Market 1897 by Borbíróság offers a unique venue for business, family, and social events, where seasonal cuisine, quality wines, and flexible spaces can accommodate all needs. Our event rooms can also be used for completely private events, for groups of 25-30 people on average, or for families.

Our venue has three event spaces that can accommodate up to 80 people: a brighter, more open lower space (max. 20 people), a more intimate upper space (max. 30 people), and a wine cellar (max. 30 people), which can be used separately or together, depending on the nature of the event.

Our dinner at Market 1897 restaurant was an excellent experience in every respect. The food was fantastic, with refined flavors and sophisticated presentation, and the interior was elegant and cozy.
We would like to give special mention to András and Márton, our waiters, who were extremely kind, attentive, and professional. We were celebrating our 6th anniversary, and thanks to their attentiveness, they made the evening truly special and memorable for us.

I was completely blown away by the experience! The food was fantastic—every flavor and texture was perfectly balanced, and every ingredient contributed to the overall picture. Our waiter, András Tornyosi, provided exceptional service. His thoughtful recommendation convinced me to try a different dish than I had originally planned, and I am so glad I did – it was incredibly delicious! He also suggested the perfect wine pairing.
The atmosphere was great, and as more and more guests arrived, the music was turned down so that it was easy to have a quiet conversation. Everything was perfect, from the flavors to the presentation. I highly recommend it!

This was the finest meal of my entire trip to Europe. The duck breast was absolutely flawless—far superior to anything I had eaten in Taiwan. But the real highlight was the gentleman pictured here. His service was courteous and attentive. Despite my limited English, he never showed the slightest neglect or prejudice. Instead, he took special care to explain everything to us and actively used translation tools to ensure we enjoyed our meal. He even offered us a bottle of beer. When I couldn't decide what to choose from the menu, I asked him to order for me. The dishes he chose were absolutely delightful. I am deeply grateful for the warmth of Europeans. I am very happy to have met him in Budapest. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. 👍 ❤️

Next to Budapest's famous Market Hall, in the heart of the city, the Market-to-Table experience comes to life at the tables of an iconic Budapest bistro. Every day, we offer seasonal dishes made from ingredients selected at the market, presenting classic elements of Hungarian cuisine with a modern twist. The menu is inspired by the atmosphere of world-famous markets, from Barcelona to Tokyo, so that everyone can find their favorites.

We are said to be particularly good at duck. We don't disagree. Our wine list complements the food selection with a selection of wines that match the spirit of the place, so that quality and character can be discovered in every glass.
