With our new event series, you’ll have the chance to experience exactly that: every month, guest chefs will bring their own inspirations to the Market1897 board. The atmosphere of markets around the world, memories of travels, and the most exciting flavors — served directly on your plate.
Our first guest chef is Lajos Bíró, who will soon take over the kitchen and share his personal inspirations at Market1897.
Lajos Bíró is one of the most renowned and influential chefs in Hungarian gastronomy, and a pioneer in redefining Hungary’s bistro culture. During a career spanning more than five decades, he has led iconic restaurants such as Bock Bistro and Vendéglő a Kisbíróhoz. As President of the Hungarian Bocuse d’Or Academy, he has influenced generations of culinary professionals, while his creative yet tradition-respecting cuisine has made him a defining figure of Hungarian hospitality. His work has been recognized with numerous prestigious professional awards and lifetime achievement honors.
